Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actor for more than twenty years. Her most well-known role was that of Skyler on AMC's drama Breaking Bad. She won the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 and 2014 for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Drama Series for 2013 and 2014. She also appeared in Jean Ward in The Practice as well as Martha Bullock in Deadwood. The actress was born in Sante Fe, New Mexico in 1968 Anna Gunn fell in love with acting during the Preparatory School she attended before her family relocated to Ohio during the latter part of 1970. She studied theatre at Northwestern University, and spent one term at British American Drama Academy. Anna worked in Chicago's theatre for several years, before taking on film and television roles. Anna had her biggest break in 1992 when she played Arden for the duration of 29 episodes on Down the Shore. As a guest-star, Anna appeared in Seinfeld as well as NYPD Blue. It was only in the latter part of 1990 when she landed the role of The Practice. The role was played by Martha Bullock in Deadwood for two seasons in the late 2000s. In 2008 she was cast as Skyler on Breaking Bad. Sully in addition to Deadwood was another film she appeared in. Gunn was also on stage in David Schwimmer's production Sex With Strangers. She was also a part of the podcast audio drama of four episodes The Numbered Days series, which released in 2022. The relationship with Walter White and his wife Skyler is the most prominent element of the plot in Breaking Bad with the strained connection between them and its eventual demise arguably mirroring the same arc of Walter White's final years of his life.
